Paroonin Puntit & SBD Suomen Cup Recap

Paroonin Puntit once again delivered an excellent day of weightlifting in Parkano. For me personally, the competition was a milestone as it marked my first time livestreaming a weightlifting event. Fortunately, the event gave plenty of action to cover, with a quality venue, strong lifting, and several tight battles throughout the day. Livestream went fine, few technical issues, unfortunaly, my rookie mistakes. we missed few lifts due an issue with my camera, and back up cam did not have sound but live and learn! I came to this with ambitious attitude, and we did solid work and learned a lot. We will develop this livestreaming consept more, dont worry!

The women's competition carried extra significance as athletes continued collecting valuable ranking points toward the SBD Suomen Cup Final, which will be held in December in Vantaa and organized by Lake End Lifting.

The standout female athlete was Tytti Parjanen of Rauman Lifting. Parjanen lifted 77kg in the snatch and 100kg in the clean & jerk for a winning 177kg total. The result was good enough to top both the kilos and points standings with 231.5 Q-points. Interestingly, the numbers may not tell the full story. Tytti looked capable of more, narrowly missing 80kg in the snatch and leaving the impression that additional kilos were available in the clean & jerk as well.

The women's field featured several close contests behind Parjanen. Juulia Ojanen totaled 161kg and collected 212.0 Q-points, while Emilia Ala-Rantala posted 168kg and 210.9 Q-points. Small margins separated many of the leading women as the race for SBD Cup Finals qualification continues.

On the men's side, the biggest performance came from Rebin Rezazadeh of Rovaniemen Reipas. Rezazadeh produced a new personal record in the snatch with 151kg, before fighting through a dramatic 189kg clean & jerk. He held it overhead, securing a huge 340kg total and the highest men's score of the competition with 389.2 Q-points.

Other notable performances included Pop Horas, who totaled 278kg, Kristian Laapotti with 250kg in the 85kg category, and Markus Helin, who reached 237kg in the 95kg class, making new PR´s.

Beyond the results, the atmosphere was what stood out most. The competition hall looked excellent, the lifting was competitive throughout the day, and the event showcased exactly why local SBD Cup competitions have become such an important part of Finnish weightlifting. With the Vantaa finals approaching, Paroonin Puntit provided another reminder that the battle for qualification points is far from over.

I will be attending in SBD Suomen Cup final, and like always, you can buy photos and videos in venue from me. Oh, and from Parkano too, I got nice photos and videos there too.
