I am leaving volunteer work in Finland´s weightlifting association

Due to the circumstances around weightlifting and because my work in gold fields, I have decided to stop my volunteer work in Finland`s weightlifting association. Things got pretty ugly, I started to get really disturbing messages and stuff so thats it folks, i am done. Thank you for those who helped me and treated me with respect. I am exhausted about all the negativity and want to be in peace and try to survive my own life and work now. There was a lot of good in this, but this is it for me in that association.

It doesn´t mean, I won`t produce content on weightlifting but I will do it outside that association. I just got my first Weightlifting Diary video out. Punttipäiväkirjat, Weightlifting Diaries tell the story of different people in weightlifting. First up we have Pasi Halme from Lempäälä, check this out, he is 81-years young and still doing weightlifting.  I will continue doing these and help out the Finnish weightlifting team and Teemu Roininen, the head coach. 

Pasi has been working in television and lifting on the beaches of Pyynikki when he was young.

Kohti Batumia, The story of Finland national weightlifting teams journey towards European Championships, out in Youtube now!

Oh boy, this was  huge project for me. Towards Batumi, its a small documentary film about Finland weightlifting teams journey towards European Championships. Starting from Kuortane Olympic Training Center and ending in Batumi, Georgia competition site where Janette Ylisoini and team Finland tracelled with an dream. A dream of European Champion. If anuone could bring that to Finland after over 30 years, it would be Janette Ylisoini. What happened and how did the team prepare for this competition? Eetu Hautaniemi was battling an injury, Miira-Mari fought hard to get the spot on the team but did not make the cut this year, Minni jerked 131 kilos in training camp, and Inka with massive double numbers. Rebin Rezazadeh doubling 180 kilos clean and jerk. Huge lifts, battles and more in Towards Batumi, little documentary of Finnish weightlifting. Go check it out in Youtube. Gold Panning´s Ostrobothnian Championships 23.5.-24.5.2026

I was very happy to be able to be in this event.  I took a ton of photos and I think gold panning is very much fun to watch. it is fast paced and people in this community are very easygoing and fun to be around. Saturday was warm and sunny and Sunday it was raining and the wind was quite strong but everything worked out well.  I think pitkämö was a great place for this kinda event. beautifull nature, good food, camping and cabins. perfect place. Next time will be in Tankavaara, Midsummer gold panning competition.  I am going  to Lapland in few weeks time, maybe around 17.6-18.6? I am going to go get familiar with our claims for those who are member in Laplands Gold digging association, We have 10 claims and almost every claim has a permit to dig. I have to check that from the secretary but I do think so. When you pay the fee to become member, you are allowed to dig gold by hand in Laplands Gold digging associations claims, you can camp there, use sauna if claim has one. You also get our magazine 4 year and some discounts in few places in Lapland. Fee is only 33€ per year, so almost nothing! Join us and start your gold digging journey! Oh, and on that Saturday 23.5 was a car meet in Makasiini Bar in Kurikka too. I took few pics there too. The turn out was huge, biggest meet yet, so many different kinda cars, from vintage to customs and more. Took some drone shots, my little drone is quite usefull but kinda missing on that camera movement, its just stays leveled so that gives a challenge. National competition 14.5 at Seinäjoki Crossfit

Oh my, what a competition day! I was lifting myself so the first womens group did not get any photos, but we had many groups that I did photograph! Im uploading edited versions and more in my competition gallery. It was a big comp. over 40 athletes. But as always, Seinäjoki group handled it so well. Lakeuden Atleetit, the new weightlifting club was in charge for the competition but as always, everybody helped out! I took so many photos, this was my second time with this new Canon, it worked out quite well. I made a bonus PC and phone wallpapers for you guys, that you can upload and use. I think it turned out quite nicely, I am a succer for these kinda designs, and I use them when ever I can. I had fun, on the platform and behind my camera. Many big emotions, just like it is in weightlifting. What would it be, if nothing is on the line?

European weightlifting Championships and Hobbies and leisure time exhibition.

23.4.2026

Well, I have been super busy these last few weeks, editing our national teams athlete interviews and keeping track of EWC media and communication for our national team. With my team mate in media of Finnish weightlifting federation we have been working hard for early announcements and competition reports from the competition. Euro's started 19.4 and will continue until 26.4. Competition venue is in Batumi Georgia this year. We have a historical chance to success this year, Janette Ylisoini could be up there in the platform, even as an European champion! That would be huge! In another news, here in our little county in Southern Ostrobothnia, we had Hobbies and leisure time exhibition on 18.4. I was there helping out the local weightlifting club Family Power ry and doing some media from the exhibition. This event went great for the weightlifting club, 750 person attend the exhibition and 40 of them stopped by our booth to weigh in mystery weights and participate in our lottery. What a turn out! Thank you so much guys for visiting us!

I made a short video from the expo. I had my new drone with me, DJI Mini 4K , It looked awesome! Still learning how to fly it but got some decent shots from it. I had to do this quite fast and on the go so it's not that perfect I think but check it out below 👇

I'm the editor-in-chief for Lapland's gold digging association.

The spring is here and I have been quite busy. I have taken a job from Lapin Kullankaivajain liitolta, Laplands gold diggers association. I'm the editor-in-chief for their magazine Prospäkkäri, Prospector. The first one is already published. So, I am an journalist now too. I have written to Weightlifting associations paper, Snatch magazine too. In another news, I have a massive project in weightlifting, doing a documentary about our national team and athletes. Also, athlete interviews, we have European Championships in Batumi starting in 19.4 and I interviewed our athletes in training camp that was preparing them for the Euros. One is already done and out in YouTube. More on the editing table. Lot of Davinci Resolve learning for me. Also, I have been planning a photography exhibition, from my weightlifting pictures, This Is Weightlifting exhibition. Still looking for the venue. I'm going to go to gold trails for summer to make some content and so I have some work ahead of me. Let's enjoy the spring and stay tuned.

What a weekend in weightlifting in Finland🔥

I was watching the Finnish weightlifting national championships from YLE Livestream Friday to Saturday and Sunday I was at the venue taking pictures.

First of all, Tampereen Pyrintö had really outdone the competition venue, it was awesome. They had led screens and lifted platform and more. This is what a competition should look like!

I took some nice photos, some turned out great, some not. This was my second time with this camera and I was trying few things. The competition venue had a lot of red color and yellowish lights so not the best combo. I don't have any filters, I have ordered some special ones but I was having a hard time with the colors. And I wasn't the only one. But we did our best. Hey, if you wanna check out the live stream, you can find the links HERE

I can't wait for my special filters to come, I wanna try them out!

Finnish weightlifting national championships 👑

The one of the most exciting competitions are coming up next weekend in Tampere! Time to see who will become the national champion in his or her's weight class. This year's event is going to be big and flashy. YLE will have a Livestream from the competition.

Battle for the championship will start 27.2 in Pyynikki's Palloiluhalli and last lifts will be seen in Sunday 1.3.2026

Fygstermedia will be there at the very least Sunday. I am having very hard time in my personal life and it is affecting fygstermedia too. 

My new camera was awesome, I really liked it. I got some great shots from last months county championships. I will upload them in to my page for you to enjoy!

Okay, we will hopefully see me taking pictures of the best lifters in our nation next weekend.

County Championships in Weightlifting 24.1.26

Fygstermedia will be attending in the county championships in Kauhajoki 24.1.26. I will offer my photography and video services for athletes, with my new gear EOS 90D and I will have a another camera for videos. UPDATE FOR JANUARY

16.1.2026

Hello friends and new visitors. I have exciting news, I have updated my photography gear. My main camera is now Canon EOS 90D and with that I can take 4K videos for my clients, if needed! I got help from a friend to get this, due to my current situtations in life and work. I am very excited for this, I can produce more with better quality to you guys. I have a back up camera, it is and good old Sony that I got as a gift from a stranger that had heard my troubles. It is a very good camera for landscape and portraits. Overall a good, sturdy camera. And with those act of kindness Fygstermedia is back in business. I can`t find the words to expressmy gratitude for these eople that helped me. But I can promise I will stay on this, trying to make my way in this world. I have also applied to study for Media and pictural expressions basic studies here in Sedu Kurikka. These studies are ongoing for two years and I can still work while I study. These studies would give me more knowledge and expand my professionals skills in my this area of profession. I will know in a about week or so if I get the position to study. Let`s hope so!

Not the start I wanted for 2026

Welcome new year, new plans and new opportunity! I had a terrible situtation in my last photography gig, my Canon EOS 80D broke down before the event started. My back up camera was in maintenance too, and that one is quite old. I do have a Sony in use right now but it is bit vintage so good quality video is not possible. This was very unfortuned, and now I am in a need of new gear. I was planning to expand my services this year to livestreaming services too. We will see what will happen this spring. I do sincerely hope I could provide more and learn new things. I still think that this unfortunate event with my camera could be converged to a new opportunity. I am hopefull!
