Hello my dear weightlifting fans,
I have some special local news to share.
This week marks a completely new chapter for FygsterMedia because for the very first time, I will be producing and broadcasting a live weightlifting competition.
On October 31st, we'll be live from Paroonin Puntit, an SBD Finnish Cup competition, and honestly, I'm both incredibly excited and a little nervous.
I've covered competitions before with photos, videos, interviews and articles, but livestreaming is a whole different challenge. Because if we're doing this, we're doing it properly.
This won't be just a single-camera stream focused on one platform. We're putting together a multi-camera production to bring you different angles, athlete interviews and as much competition-day atmosphere as possible.
And thankfully, I won't be doing it alone.
My friend Laura Kemppi will be joining the FygsterMedia crew for the day and helping operate the broadcast behind the scenes. Laura will be keeping an eye on the stream, making sure everything runs smoothly and monitoring the live chat so that you can be part of the experience as well.
Her help means I can continue doing what I love most: capturing photos, filming content and documenting Finnish weightlifting throughout the day. So, athletes, you can buy your photos and videos of your day from me. I will add the details closer to the competition.
We're also planning to bring guests into the commentary area.
One confirmed guest is Matti Keskiniemi from Keljon Viesti, who will be competing at the event and will also step behind the microphone to help commentate competition sessions throughout the day. His athlete perspective should add plenty of insight for viewers following the action.
The competition itself begins at 12:00, but we'll be going live a little earlier. The plan is to feature some pre-event interviews, talk about the athletes to watch and get everyone warmed up before the first lifts begin.
To be honest, I have no idea how stressful this day is going to be.
I will be juggling cameras, photography, video production and the overall broadcast at the same time. It's a big step forward for FygsterMedia, but it's exactly the kind of challenge I've been wanting to take on.
